In the first place, learn to care as much about your mental and physical health as you do about other things you are passionate about.  After all, if you are mentally and physically fit, you will have the characteristics needed to be truly successful and be able to plan for success.

Equally important “Love” taking care of yourself just like you “love” other things.  Uniquely you are the only you there will ever be.  Furthermore physical and mental health depend on each other to make a person whole.  Whereas one without the other is only a partially healthy person.  Likewise one needs to have a healthy mind and body to be on the road to success.

Exercise:

We all know that exercise is a must for a healthy body.  We also need to exercise our minds though. On the other hand, if we truly have a plan for success, we will work on exercising our body and minds.  Besides this will aid in your strategies for success.

Types of Exercises:

There are many types of exercises to do. 

Here are a few:

Yoga or Pilates:

YOGA

Did you know that yoga actually protects your muscles, your spine, your cartilage, and tendons?  Additionally stretching your body regularly will help your body be more resilient and help you avoid injuries.  Moreover Yoga also usually incorporates some form of meditation.  This aids in helping your mental capacity. By the same token calming your mind a couple of times a day will reduce your stress levels too.  Of course, this is all a part of your strategies for success.

I have taken part in both of these exercises.  Yoga is a mind/body experience developed in Ancient India; whereas, the Pilates exercises were developed in the 20th century by Joseph Pilates.  Although Pilates is an exercise that is practiced Worldwide, it is more prevalent in countries such as Canada, the US, and the UK.  Pilates can actually improve balance.  It can also help to condition your muscles and is much better than not moving or doing any exercises at all!

Yoga Or Pilates Are Not For You?

These exercises are not for everyone.  But you need to find some type of daily exercises or at least one type of exercise that you can do five times a week.  Especially if you have a job where you are sitting a lot at a desk.  If so you will develop poor posture, neck, and lower back pain.  Try to do an exercise that will rotate your muscles – your hips, knees and ankles, shoulder and spine.  Exercises such as lunges or squats are a great way to move these muscles and keep them limber.

Low-Intensity Aerobics:

I try to do low-intensity aerobics at least five times per week.  After working out I feel invigorated, happier and sleep much better.  Furthermore, I keep the workouts down to around 30 to 45 minutes almost daily.  This way I am burning fat for energy, helping my heart to be healthy; and also aiding in much better sleep.

Confront Mental Issues:

Sometimes we hide our feelings and harbor negativities that can cause mental health problems.  We need to confront them and sometimes a person needs help.  That is great, that is what counselors are for.  They are there to aid in our mental health.  Remember positive thinking leads to success!

Listen To Your Body:

Along with proper diet, exercise and mental health you need to give your mind and body enough rest to replenish itself to go on.  If your body is telling you to slow down, then slow down and relax and rest your tired muscles and your brain!  In reality, these are a few of the secrets of success.  

However, if you develop any muscle pains or aches that just linger on and on, see a medical professional.  Besides they are there to help you.

Try to take some exercise classes with other people – group exercises with friends or make new friends.  Spending time with like-minded people will aid in your self-esteem also.  Spend time with people who like you and enjoy the same things you do.  Of course, you may not like everything another person likes, but share and try out new things and get acquainted with people who like and accept YOU FOR YOU!  This does not mean just sharing with friends on Social Media which is the way many people keep in touch or meet new people these days.  You need to get in touch with real live people who you can talk to, exercise with, go out to dinner with, etc., in person.  Making friendships with good people will aid in your strategies for success.

Nutrition:

Try to eat a balance of fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins.  Not only will eating healthfully aid in physical health but it will also improve your mental state.  That means you will experience a higher quality of life.  It has been proven that eating green leafy vegetables including broccoli, kale, and spinach actually keep you physically and mentally fit.  These tips are just some of the ingredients for success. I incorporate a lot of antioxidants into my diet, especially blueberries.  Foods high in antioxidants will help you build up your immune system along with sparing your body from damage from illnesses. Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake.

About all that I drink at home is water. Once in awhile, I enjoy a soda when going out to lunch, but water is my main thirst quencher.

Keep Life Interesting:
